Radiothon success: Double amount raised in previous years for MICS hospitals

The MICs Foundation is thrilled with the results of the Friday, December 2nd Community Cares Radiothon on Moose FM.

Foundation coordinator Katie Browne says the amount of money raised for the hospitals in Iroquois Falls, Cochrane and Matheson almost doubled previous years.

“Donations are even coming in now,” she notes, “but we’ve raised approximately $7,800.”

That’s enough to go ahead with the purchase of three Plum 360 pump infusion systems.  Eventually between the three hospitals, there will be 46 of them.

Browne says donors will receive proper thanks.

“There was a lot of donations made from our local businesses, our largest donation being $2,500.”

The foundation continues to offer its monthly 50-50 raffle.  The jackpot so far this month is more than $9,000.  Browne says it will also work on new fundraising initiatives in the new year.
