The Adult Learning Centre that serves everywhere from Cochrane to Ramore is actively recruiting new board members.
Executive director Sara Haldenby says anyone in that catchment area is eligible.
“The current board is more heavily weighted down in the Iroquois Falls area,” Haldenby states. “So we’re looking for more probably Cochrane members.”
The board meets once a month in person and on Zoom, giving direction for the programs the centre offers. They range from basic literacy and math skills to upgrading and training anyone looking for new skills.
“You just need a desire to volunteer your time and you need to have a passion for people to get the training that they need. That’s all we’re looking for.”
