Back to an annual Christmas concert for the Cochrane Community Choir

After being sidelined by the pandemic the last couple years, the Cochrane Community Choir is back with its annual Christmas concert.

It’s on Thursday, December 15th at 7:00pm at Transfiguration Church.

Assistant director Susan Fortin says  the two-dozen-voice-strong choir will perform traditional and religious tunes, and a couple that are new to its repertoire.

“We have one that is called Marshmallow World and it is quite an upbeat song and the choir loves it,” says Fortin. “That is one of our new songs that the community would not have heard yet.”

The choir normally performs ten songs every Christmas.  But because of the challenges presented by the pandemic, it’s only ready to do eight this year.

“However,” Fortin quickly adds, “we do continue to have what we call the middle of the concert, where certain groups and individuals get up and they are also able to perform.”

There’s no admission charge for the concert, although Fortin says the choir encourages you to make a donation to the Cochrane Food Bank on its behalf.
