Cochrane and Iroquois Falls police may soon be receiving new equipment. Timmins OPP are testing a new device that allows the computer in a cruiser to read every license plate number it passes, automatically flagging those with an expired tag. The system is also effective for detecting suspended drivers. Officers were able to pull over three infracted drivers within the first ten minutes of operation.
