Hockey, beer and spaghetti the foundation for an SCM redevelopment fundraiser

Organizers of an adult hockey tournament in Iroquois Falls the first weekend of November… have handed the South Centennial Manor redevelopment project a fundraising opportunity on a spaghetti platter.

Fundraisers will operate a beer garden and spaghetti dinner in the complex hall at the Jus Jordan Arena on Saturday, Nov. 5th. MICs Foundation coordinator Katie Browne says it’s for more than the hockey players.

“We’re inviting anyone from the hockey tournament or from the public to join us for a beverage, spaghetti dinner on Saturday night and to just enjoy the weekend with us,” she says.

The goal is to make $10,000. Browne says to pull it off, the group needs a lot of help.

“Anybody who would like to volunteer, we have a number of different positions available and we would be more than happy to have anyone reach out to us to provide their time.”

There are no special requirements, however bartenders do need a Smart Serve certificate.
