With the arrival of a second brand of bivalent COVID-19 vaccine and cold and flu season knocking at the door, appointments are being accepted for anyone who’s at least 12 years old to get a shot.
Kendra Brunet is the Porcupine Health Unit’s program manager for COVID-19 response. She says bivalent inoculations have actually been available since mid September.
“However, the province has just announced that it’s now open to individuals who are 12 years of age and older.”
“They would have had to have come in already for their first and second doses of a COVID-19 vaccine,” Brunet adds, “and now the bivalent is a booster dose that is targeting the Omicron variant that is currently circulating in the province.”
You can book an appointment on the PHU website or at any health unit office. Your pharmacy or primary care facility might also be offering the shot.
