The Town of Iroquois Falls is hoping that at least one lane of Monteith Rd., just north of the village, is open by the time winter hits.
It’s been closed since the end of May, when what is called a slope failure washed the eastern edge into the Driftwood River.
In a release, the municipality says the failure is significant, and simple reinforcement of the river bank is not an option.
A permanent solution to allow full reopening of the road is still being sought.
