Iroquois Falls Community Choir is recruiting singers; you could be one of them

You might not think that your awesome singing voice in the shower works outside the bathroom.  Iroquois Falls Community Choir director Roy Takayesu says it can.  And he’s recruiting new members for his choir.

If you don’t know your pitch or range, he’ll figure it out.

“Inevitably, it’s a group situation,” he outlines. “And often, if you’ve got enough sound coming in through your ears, you can match that pitch and that’s really what it’s all about.”

Plus there’s the advantage of being in a group of singers.

“If there’s a note you can’t sing, don’t sing it. Somebody else will cover it.”

The choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from seven until 8:30 in the music room at IFSS. It performs a Christmas concert, one in May and occasional other events. Takayesu says it is down to ten members, and he’d like at least half a dozen more. He also needs a piano accompanist.
