Following a soft opening last week when construction fences came down, Cochrane is ready for the grand opening and ribbon cutting at the new playground at Hillcrest Park. It’s set for 3:30pm Tuesday.
Director of community services Jason Boyer notes that the final design was chosen by a parents committee, with expert input from every Grade 3 class in town.
“We had all the Grade 3 students rate the top three selections, and ultimately they picked the winner from the top three.”
The municipality budgeted $100,000 for the project.
“The mayor will be there to cut the ribbon,” Boyer adds. “Yeah, we’re very excited to have the park reopen now, with the new playground there.”
