Another event that’s finally returning to in-person for the first time in three years is the Cochrane Fall Fair.
It runs Friday evening, September 9th from 6:00pm to 10:00pm and Saturday the 10th, 10:00am to 4:00pm at the fairground on First Ave.
Cochrane Agricultural Society director Heather Brouwer says all the traditional exhibits and competitions are back, and the newly renovated cookhouse will be staffed by the Legion.
“We’ll have some live entertainment on Friday evening, some kids’ games on Saturday,” Brouwer outlines, “and to close it all out, our auction on Saturday afternoon, where people can bid on and take home some of the mouth-watering goodies they’ve been admiring all weekend.”
The Friday night entertainment will be the piano and singing talents of Kyler Brouwer.
Heather Brouwer adds that there’s a cooking contest on Saturday afternoon.
“Most years, I think they’ve kind of had a tradition of having a meatball or a chili contest on the Saturday afternoon. This year we’re going to have both. So we’re going to do a beef meatball and a vegetarian chili.”
There are cash prizes for both.
