Denis Clement wants another term as mayor of Cochrane. He says he wants to continue the path of stability the municipality has been on for the past four years.
Clement was a town councillor from 1993 to ‘99, and returned to politics in 2018.
He says there’s still a need for an infrastructure master plan for roads and sewers. That’s his top priority, along with recruiting family doctors.
“We have put together an aggressive incentive package,” he notes. “We are pursuing them. We have presented to five different doctors so far, and there’s more on the horizon.”
So far, the race to be mayor is a repeat of 2018, with former mayor Peter Politis taking another run at it.
“He has a vision. I have a vision,” Clement comments, “and I do believe our hearts are set for the betterment of the community. We just take different paths.”
Clement notes that the end result is up to voters.
