We’re a matter of days away from players with the Cochrane Crunch junior hockey team being back in town.
Marketing and communications manager Gina Nickolau says management wanted a pre-season community event, so it’s teaming up with kids baseball for a tournament.
“The boys of the Crunch will be involved in coaching the baseball teams and myself will be involved in organizing the event,” she says.
There will be free food for all the competitors.
“And then we’ll open it up for fundraising,” Nickolau adds, “to raise some funds for equipment that the team will be needing for next year to the rest of the town to come out and support them.”
The NOJHL home opener for the Crunch is on September 16th, hosting the Timmins Rock. We’ll have more on that leading up to the big game.
