Library talk deals with travel and health

Now that COVID-19 travel restrictions are being lifted you’re probably itching to hit the road – or the air, for an international trip.

On the afternoon of Friday, June 24th, the Cochrane Public Library presents a free edition of its drop-in “Community Talks” series. Wallace Drug Store staff pharmacist Brett Morphy calls his talk “Travel Med”.

“There’s a lot of things to consider about your health. It will be about different vaccines you need, resources you can access to protect yourself and how to manage medications and other minor ailments that can occur while you travel,” he says.

“Prevention is a huge part of it. Vaccinations, knowing where you’re going, knowing what kind of diseases you may have to watch out for, knowing what kind of vaccinations you may be required to have to enter the country, depending on where you’re going, and where to find that information.”

The presentation starts at 3:00pm and should last about an hour, but Morphy promises to stay as long as he has to, to answer any questions. The event is free, and on a drop-in basis.
