Cochrane emergency crews and dozens of citizen volunteers surrounded Lake Commando in Cochrane last night in response to a vehicle that left the road and plunged into the freezing water. At least one victim was taken from the scene by ambulance. Though police are unable to provide details at this time, the rescue effort was aided by drivers positioning their cars around the shoreline, using their headlights to illuminate the accident scene.
