Thursday’s I.F. event for Ukrainian relief is a lot more than a telethon

Things are falling into place for Thursday night’s “Iroquois Falls Stands with Ukraine” telethon.

Organizer Barb Cornthwaite notes that it will run from 6:00pm until 10:00pm, not 11:00pm as previously stated.

It’s jam packed with entertainers from Claudia Charlebois to Giger Giguere and Henry Emans, to name but two acts.

So while you’re watching the livestream, Cornthwaite says you can call in your pledge for Ukrainian relief.

“We’re hoping as much as possible people will take advantage of the online way to do it, which is through Canada Helps,” she remarks. “So we’ll be providing that information throughout the evening.”

But there’s more. An online auction of art donated by people in the Falls and from the region is already underway.  Organizer Bard Cornthwaite says pieces are still being donated, and the auction runs until May 13th.

“We have already raised $1,300 with it,” she proudly reports. “And we still have lots of pieces that haven’t been bid on yet, like we’re just getting the word out there.”

All the details about the telethon, the art auction, the 50-50 draw, bake sale and student art display are on the “Iroquois Falls Stands with Ukraine” Facebook page.
