The Dallas Cowboys lost both their game and their quarterback yesterday. Tony Romo broke his collarbone and is done for the season and the Carolina Panthers beat the Cowboys 33-14. Elsewhere the Chicago Bears upset the Green Bay Packers  17-13, and the Detroit Lions crushed the Philadelphia Eagles 45-14.

IN CFL news Henry Burris was named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player at the league’s awards banquet. The Ottawa Redblacks quarterback received 71-of-75 first-place ballots in voting by the Football Reporters of Canada.

And in their history-making first game ever, the Cochrane Crunch and the Timmins Rock went head to head last night at the Tim Horton Event Centre.  The game was hard fought, with Timmins coming out ahead 4-3.
