BULLYING AND THE AGE OF RESPONSIBILITY

The Northeast OPP is raising awareness against bullying in our schools.  Police, in partnership with NEOFACS are visiting schools from Hearst to Cochrane to speak with children.  Staff Sergeant Baldassare Nuccio says neither children nor parents realize the age of responsibility is 12.  He says making threats or physically bullying someone can lead to criminal charges under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.  Nuccio says social media has made the Northeast OPP adjust their strategies for raising awareness and making sure children are staying out of trouble.
