Rail and bus mechanics with Ontario Northland were locked out of the job over the weekend. Negotiations between UNIFOR and the O-N-T-C broke down on Friday. Union members organized a blockade at the North Bay Motor Coach repair centre over the weekend after the O-N-T-C arranged to bring in replacement workers. The employees are fighting for better job security. They’ve been without a contract since 2013. This includes UNIFOR rail workers in Cochrane, who have been locked out since last week.
