Blastomycosis investigations nearly at 120 on Constance Lake First Nation

Close to 120 people are under investigation for the lung infection blastomycosis on Constance Lake First Nation. Chief Ramona Sutherland reported that there are now 12 confirmed cases and nine probably cases. She adds that the First Nation council is there to help.

“Our band members that are dealing with their families out of town can feel supported as well.,” she said. “Constance Lake is doing everything we can to give you the support that you need.”

She adds more information sessions are being set up to provide input to investigators.

“So we will have a map with these investigators that are from the Porcupine Health, Mattawa and Four Rivers,” she said. “So we have three groups investigating people in the community.”
