PAYING IT FORWARD FOR CHRISTMAS

A local woman is helping to bring Christmas to the less fortunate.  Nancy Porter, who works in Timmins and lives in Iroquois Falls, is working on donating used winter jackets to those who need them and she is creating Christmas Eve boxes for kids.  She says the boxes will be filled with things like snacks, hot chocolate, and a movie for families to watch together on December 24th.  Porter says a stranger’s kindness from years ago is what sparked these programs.  Porter is looking for donations for both her Bundle Up and Be Warm program, and for the Christmas Eve boxes.  All of the donated goods will stay in the community as she will be delivering them to those in need in Iroquois Falls and Cochrane.
