Cochrane Lions Bill Mitchell Christmas Telethon set for Sun., Dec. 5

Feeding people is the aim of the annual Cochrane Lions Bill Mitchell Christmas Telethon.

This year’s event is on Sunday, December 5th,  between 1:00pm and 4:00pm, emceed by Peter Politis.  Chairman Daniel Touchette says it’s virtual again this year, streamed on the Lions Club’s Facebook page.

“All the people that would be interested to send a video or something of singing, playing an instrument or tell a story, that type of stuff, it would be very welcome,” Touchette states.

You can also submit that on Facebook or email.

Touchette says the fundraising target is to match or exceed last year’s total of about $20,000.00.

“That money goes to the food bank,” Touchette explains. “It’s a fundraiser we do to help people less fortunate at Christmastime.”

There are several ways to honour your pledge, including e-transfer.

WHY BILL MITCHELL?

It’s called the Bill Mitchell Christmas Telethon in memory of longtime Lions Club member and telethon chairman Bill Mitchell, who died a few years ago.
