Cochrane Santa Claus Parade next Thursday

The Christmas season is set to arrive in Cochrane next Thursday night, November 25th.

The town’s director of community services, Jason Boyer says following the tree lighting at 5:30pm at St. Paul’s United Church, the Santa Claus Parade will wind its way around Lake Commando, beginning at 6:00pm.

“We don’t have a specific theme,” Boyer explains. “I think we’ve kind of done away with that. Anything obviously Christmas that enlightens our crowd and our Christmas spirit.”

COVID-19 protocols will be in place, so wear a mask is you can’t physically distance.  And again, you don’t even have to get out of your car.

“We encourage people to do that, park along the route, stay in your car, face out towards the road if you will, so you can easily see that,” says Boyer. “We will have people handing out candy, so we can bring it right to the car to the kids.

Candy donations for the bags are still needed.  To get in on that or to register an entry in the parade, call the community services office.
