MOH doesn’t want to go back to the days of stricter COVID-19 restrictions

Areas neighbouring Porcupine Health Unit territory – the Sudbury and Algoma health units, for example – are seeing spikes in COVID-19 numbers. PHU medical officer of health Dr. Lianne Catton says they’re larger than they’ve seen so far.  So they’ve reinstated stricter public safety protocols.

“And this is a place we do not want to end up in again,” says Catton. “We were there at the end of the third wave, while everyone else was improving, and it was extremely, extremely challenging on all of us.”

“We know that it is due to the ongoing commitment of all of our community members in every sector in every community and every setting.”

Catton’s urging us to keep up with vaccinations and safety measures like mask wearing and hand washing.
