Iroquois Falls Arts Council offers free photography classes for seniors

Free photography lessons for anyone over 55 are the first program for the Iroquois Falls Arts Council to use some of the $7,000 grant from the Ontario Arts Council.

IFAC president Fran Coté says it’s part of her group’s “Art for Aging and Engaging” effort.

The photography class is already meeting Saturday mornings in the cafeteria at the Jus Jordan Arena.

“The instructor is Lynne Chartier-Cashmore,” says Coté, “and she loves the light in the cafeteria, very, very, large windows there and she likes that location.”

Coté adds that the class has eight students so far.  Two more spots are available, but only until this Saturday’s class.

“After that we can’t take any new people, but she said anybody who joined now, she can get them caught up.”

More details and registration are available from Chartier-Cashmore, or from Coté at 705-232-6707 or 705-232-8099.
