Library Week is one for the books at the Cochrane Public Library

The bookworm in the family will be glad to know that this is Library Week across Ontario, and at the Cochrane Public Library.

Program services coordinator Hillary Meaden says there are raffles, book displays, and “Food for Fines”. You can pay off your debt for overdue books with non-perishable food items for the local food bank.

“Libraries like to think of themselves as community hubs,” says Meaden, “and if nothing else, our community is very, very important to us, so any way that we can give back, we try.”

There are also some challenges that Meaden is tight-lipped about.

“They’re going to find out throughout the week throughout our social media pages. So I invited everybody to come into the library, as well as to check out our Facebook and Instagram pages.”
