Crunch ready to roar into NOJHL action

The Cochrane Crunch finally have ice in their own rink, and have been practicing twice a day to prepare for a big weekend in NOHJL action.

Owner-coach-GM Tom Nickolau notes that his team hosts Powassan Friday night, Timmins Saturday, and then travels to Hearst for a Sunday afternoon match.

“We have three tough games against a young Powassan team that’s started of really good;” he comments. “Timmins has played well and so has Hearst to start the season. So it’s three really tough games coming up.”

Nickolau has three words to describe this season’s Crunch team: “Speed and physicality.” He doesn’t want to draw attention yet to any of his players to be watching.

“I’m just putting together lines this week. In the three exhibition games that we had, I did multiple different things and I’ve got to see how it goes this weekend first.”

Nicholau’s recommendation is to buy home tickets online.  And don’t forget that to get into the Tim Horton Events Centre, you need proof of vaccination.
