Habitat Interlude will be raising awareness for its services and resources over the month of November.  The campaign, Mauvember, is how the women’s shelters in Hearst, Kapuskasing and Cochrane will be raising awareness against domestic violence and abuse.  Community Outreach Councillor with Habitat Interlude, Dawn Nuccio says there are resources available both in and outside of the shelter.  The local OPP say they receive seven to ten calls a week in regards to domestic violence.  Nuccio says cases are handled delicately, confidentially and that women going through the process of escaping an abusive or violent household are never alone.
