Farmers market ready to go

The Cochrane Agricultural Society is launching this year’s “Fresh from the Farm” market season, this Saturday between ten and noon.

Communications director Heather Brouwer says there will be a lot of vendors.

“A lot of the same people from last year are coming back and we do have a couple new faces,” she remarks.  “We’re really excited to get out there and connect our community with  local producers and artisans.”

The market runs every Saturday until Thanksgiving in and around the Quonset on the fairground.

Anti-COVID-19 measures will be in place.  Brouwer says they’re nothing we’re unaccustomed to, from the seemingly never-ending vortex of the virus.

“Things are going to be the same as last year,” Brouwer notes. “We’re going to have one-way traffic flow. Everyone’s going to be wearing masks. We’re going to have lots of sanitizer, just the same types of things that people would expect at this point.”
