Pool and arena to be fixed up in Iroquois Falls thanks to government grants

Renovations are coming to the Jus Jordan Arena and Sports Complex in Iroquois Falls. The Federal and Provincial governments announced nearly half a million dollars in funding recently. Director of Recreation Services Brian Finner says it’s welcomed good news for the community and can’t wait to get started.

“So we’re going to start the first phase of the project hopefully in the fall of this year,” he said. “We couldn’t be more excited to carry that out over the next five years.”

Finner says the projects include fixing up several areas at the pool.

“Starting with our pool boilers as well as our cooling tower for our arena, so those are the two items that we are going to focus on early,” he said. “And the balance to be carried out over the next five years in terms of identifying some other projects that we will be doing.”

The lady’s gym is also getting fresh lighting and plumbing changes, while a new scoreboard and multi-use tractor are headed to the arena.
