TEACHER’S WORK TO RULE

The O.N.E. is recognizing its principals and vice-principals during the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario’s work-to-rule job action.  The District School Board Ontario North East held a meeting recognizing principals and vice-principals stepping up their responsibilities during the strike action.  Director of Education at the O.N.E., Linda Knight says the atmosphere for students has changed.   Some of the strike action measures by teachers in include not filling in for absent teachers, not taking on additional students if a class collapses and no additional duties during preparation time.  The E.F.T.O. has been without a contract for over a year and Knight says she’s not sure when the province will return to the table.
