PHU passes 600 COVID-19 cases mark by 5

UPDATE AT 6:10pm:  Ten more cases: nine in Timmins, one in “area of Cochrane, Matheson, Iroquois Falls, Smooth Rock Falls.  Now up to 615 and 128 active.

This region has gone over 600 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began.  Nine new cases reported today by the Porcupine Health Unit bring the total to 605.  One-hundred-and-eighteen are currently active.

Six of the new cases are in Timmins; the other three in what the health unit calls “the area of Cochrane, Matheson, Iroquois Falls and Smooth Rock Falls.

Five are from contact with other cases; one from an outbreak and three are under investigation.
