OPP in the Cochrane area say they’ll be checking car seats in addition to their seat belt blitz and the All Boots on the Ground Initiative. Police want to remind drivers that they’re responsible for securing anyone under the age of 16, whether they’re in a seat belt, child seat or booster seat. Checking car seats for the National Safety Mark label is a good way to determine if the seat is up to Canadian road safety standards.
