Two men and two women are off the hook over fraud charges involving St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kapuskasing and Transfiguration in Cochrane.
Lawyer Pierre Dumais says the charges against his four clients were dropped by the Crown Attorney, who found no reasonable prospect of conviction.
The quartet was charged with one count each of fraud over five-thousand dollars. The men were also accused of breach of trust.
The charges were laid last July, when an audit allegedly showed about two-hundred-thousand dollars of church money missing.
