Passion Play moves online due to pandemic with ‘director’s cut of years past’

This Friday – Good Friday – there will be an innovative way of presenting the annual Passion Play in Cochrane.

New Hope Community Church assistant pastor Patrick Tousignant has been directing it for several years, in conjunction with the local ministerial association.

It’s usually in a hall, but can’t be because of COVID-19, so Tousignant’s moving it online.

“A director’s cut of years past” he calls it.

It debuts at 7:00pm Friday, showing snippets from past presentations.  It should last between 20 and 30 minutes.

“And a whole bunch of people from the community will have some fresh interviews of saying what Good Friday means to them,” Tousignant notes. “That’s the basic idea since we can’t gather in big groups.”

“It’ll be a premiere on the New Hope Facebook page. There’s a Cochrane Area Ministerial Association page also.”

Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
