‘Variant of concern’ involved in latest case of Toronto to Timmins flight exposure

Yet another potential exposure to coronavirus on an airliner flying into Timmins – this time, it’s one of the so-called “variants of concern”.

If you were on the Air Canada flight that left Toronto for Timmins at 6:50pm last Monday, March 15th, you’re considered high risk.  The Porcupine Health Unit says you must isolate immediately and contact PHU.

The particular variant is the one first detected in the UK.  The passenger carrying it is not from this region, and is now in isolation.

NOTE: An earlier version of this story gave the wrong date.  It has now been corrected by the Porcupine Health Unit and is Monday, March 15th.
