NewsLOUGHHEED CHARGED SHARE ON: Tim Rout, staff Friday, Sep. 25th, 2015The OPP have laid charges against 61 year old Gerry Loughheed Jr. in connection with last year’s bribery allegation in Sudbury, where Liberals asked one of their own not to seek the candidacy in a by-election. Former candidate Andrew Olivier says he recorded conversations with a Liberal party representative that shows he was being illegally offered a job or appointment in exchange for his stepping aside so NDP MPP Glenn Thibeault could cross the floor and run for the Liberals. The police investigation has been ongoing since January. Loughheed is charged with unlawfully influencing or negotiating an appointment, and counseling an offense not committed.
