No pressure. No commitment. No next-day phone call. No ghosting.
How does that all sound for a Valentine’s date? Those are all benefits of the Cochrane Public Library’s “Blind Date with a Book” — or with a movie.
You pick a category – maybe one you wouldn’t normally go for – and library staff will pick a book, and package it up for you with some sweets included. And then, says Ardis Proulx-Chedore, the assistant to the CEO, you pick it up curbside.
“If you want fiction, non-fiction, if you would prefer it to be a newer book or older book,” she outlines, “if you actually like romance or if you want something more like a horror move style kind of genre, you can do that.”
“Valid library card to get your material,” Proulx-Chedore continues. “If you do not like it, you can return it, no problem.”
Valentine’s Day is Sunday, so the offer is only good until Friday.
