A third resident at Extendicare Kapuskasing has died of COVID-19.
That fact was released late Wednesday afternoon by the Porcupine Health Unit, as it also announced two more cases at the long-term care home, among five new ones.
The third case is somewhere along the James and Hudson Bay coasts, the result of international travel. The causes of the other two are under investigation: one in the area of Hearst and Hornepayne and the other in Timmins.
The total in the region since the arrival of the pandemic is now 239, with 12 deaths.
