The total number of new COVID-19 cases for the Porcupine Health Unit this weekend stands at 28.  Three more were added on Sunday, on top of Saturday’s record setting for a single day of 25 cases.

The latest are two in Timmins — one from contact with another case, the other of unknown origin — and another one in the Hearst-Hornepayne area.  All currently active cases are in self-isolation.  The total since the beginning of the pandemic is 221.

There was also a death reported on Saturday, the second during the current outbreak at Extendicare Kapuskasing.
