It was celebration time on Tuesday for the Iroquois Falls organization that provides transportation to the elderly and mobility challenged.
Timiskaming-Cochrane MPP John Vanthof was on hand for the official dedication of Access Transit’s new bus.
Board chair Jackie Rivest says it was also recognition of funding from the Ontario Trillium Fund. “Because of their help, we were able to buy our bus, that’s going to help our community,” she says.
Access Transit stages fundraisers throughout the year to raise money to keep the bus on the road and keep the fare for passengers affordable.
