Remembering Cochranites who made the supreme sacrifice in three wars

Lest we forget as we take our weekly look back at Cochrane history, the local men who gave their lives in service of our country?

The archives at the Cochrane Public Library has the full list.  It has 13 names from the First World War;  46 from World War Two; and one from the Korean conflict: Private Frederick Joseph Whiting.

Among those 60 family names are many that you would still remember as “Cochrane names”.

This year, the local Legion branch is not having a traditional Remembrance Day ceremony, because of COVID-19.  Instead, it will be streaming a presentation.  And this week, the library’s You Tube channel will have a lot of old photos from Remembrance Days in Cochrane.
