Here’s one more thing that will be missing from the streets of Iroquois Falls this year, because of COVID-19.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 70 president Don Beagan says poppy sales can’t be done the old fashioned way, with people holding boxes outside stores and post offices.
“We can’t allow the Maj. McCarthy Royal Canadian Air Cadets to work alongside of us and we can’t stand in front of the,” the president outlines. “So what we’re going to do is put the poppy boxes out into the local businesses and hope that everybody will support us.”
“We put them out Friday (Oct. 30) and they are out until November the 11th, Remembrance Day.”
