Camp Day all about the kids

Tim Hortons had a successful Camp Day. Wednesday’s event ran all day, to raise money to send underprivileged kids to camp. 100% of coffee sales went to the fundraiser, and different locations throughout the North East had BBQ’s, games, and draws, with all that money included in the donation.

Neil Chalmers, Manager of a Tim’s in Timmins, says the best thing about Camp Day is seeing it all pay off.

“The feedback that actually is meaningful, is when the kids come and they actually are waiting to get on the bus,” says Chalmers. “We often have the bus that’s taking the kids to Parry Sound board here, and we end up with 15 to 20 kids from the surrounding area that are all congregating here. They’re so excited, they’re so happy. And then when they get dropped off on their way back, you see it in their faces. They’re so tired, they’re ready to go home, but they’re so happy and they’ve had a great time.”

Chalmers says it’s a great opportunity to buy coffee for someone in line behind you, pay it forward, and it’s amazing to see the community rally behind the fundraiser to send kids to camp.
