‘Snappy’ way to raise awareness of agriculture around Cochrane

With the Cochrane Fall Fair cancelled this year, a photo scavenger hunt is underway as a means to engage people and make them aware of the type of agricultural activity in the area.

Heather Brouwer is a director of the Cochrane Agricultural Society. “We came up with a list of kind of 12 items that are related in some way to agriculture,” she says, “and we’re encouraging people to go out on their own or with their families and see if they can collect photos of all these items and submit them to us.”

“They’re all meant to be farm-related,” Brouwer continues. “Things like people enjoying a farm product, or a picture of livestock, or a field of crop, or even agricultural in your own back yard. So if you happen to be growing fruits or vegetables, we’d love to see that, too.”

A group of local photographers will judge the photos, so they’re looking for quality as much as how many of the items you can check off the list.

More details are on the agricultural society’s Facebook page.
