Cochrane farmers market gets green light to operate outside Commando Pavilion

The weekly Cochrane Farmers Market has been given the okay from town hall to begin its season next week.

However, Mayor Denis Clement says it has to be outside the Commando Pavilion, not inside.

“Because our pavilion, where their normal location would be, is still closed to the public,” he explains.  “We are following the provincial guidelines which say that there be no gatherings of more than ten people.”

The mayor says, though, that if we move into Stage 3 of reopening and it allows for it, the pavilion will be made available to the market.

“Absolutely.  We would do that. Before we turn it over, we would certainly have to follow all the proper safety procedures and clean and all those types of procedures, but we would open it up.”
