Temiskaming-Cochrane MPP John Vanthof says that the moose hunt is a pivotal part of northern Ontario culture. He says the moose hunt brings generations of people together and it may be part of the culture that might die because of the management of the hunt. In some units the moose tags have dropped by 90% says the NDP MPP. Hunters want to work with the MNR to make sure that the moose population is stable and healthy and perhaps even growing.
