The most urgent need for front line health care workers during COVID-19 has been for personal protective equipment. Northern College is getting in on providing it.
President Fred Gibbons says it’s working on producing face shields.
“We’ve been using some of our pretty sophisticated 3D print facilities to produce those shields – prototyping them,” he says, “and to make sure that we’ve got it right before we start to produce them in quantities for the local first responders.”
A lot of those first responders and health care workers were trained at Northern College.
