NewsSix more positive tests bump PHU count of COVID-19 cases to 18 SHARE ON: Bob McIntyre, staff Tuesday, Mar. 31st, 2020 There have now been 18 cases of COVID-19 confirmed by the Porcupine Health Unit. Six positive tests reported Tuesday night bumped the total up to that level.Three of them are two boys under the age of ten and a woman in her 30s, somewhere between Matheson and Smooth Rock Falls. They all became infected through close contact with another case, and are all in self-isolation.For the first time, the Kapuskasing area figures in the count. A man in his 40s who lives somewhere between Opasatika and Fauquier is also a victim of close contact. He’s also in self-isolation.And a woman in her 60s and one in her 70s are both patients at Timmins and District Hospital. The health unit doesn’t say how they contracted the coronavirus.
