Canada-U.S. border shut down

UPDATE: Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freland says the border is still open, a decision when to close it it is forthcoming.

The border between Canada and the U.S is temporarily closed.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he and U.S. President Trump agreed to restrict all non-essential travel from the two countries.

Trudeau says the border will stay open to trucks and essential service workers to ensure the supply chain of food and medical supplies remains flowing between the two countries.
