Late equestrian’s husband doesn’t want a similar accident to ever happen

The husband of the Cochrane-born equestrian who died two weeks ago in a riding accident wants to prevent it from happening to anyone else.

Katharine Morel and her horse both died while competing in Florida, trying to qualify for the Olympics.

A stumble approaching one gate sent the pair toppling over.

Scott Linklater has set up a Go Fund Me page to equip every event venue in Canada with the technology designed to prevent similar incidents.

He’s also planning a small memorial service for Morel’s family and close friends.
